Second-Hand Furniture

Help yourself to bargain furniture and homewares – and help the planet a little bit too. The process really couldn’t be any simpler!

Since 1997 our initiative and bargain homeware has benefited both the donors and those who need a helping hand in our community. We are a largely self-financing charity which makes genuine bargains available to you by collecting great quality homeware from around South East Kent – it really is a win-win situation.

You furnish your home with great quality things for next to nothing – whilst we help to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. We’re selective about what we accept from donors and currently we don’t stock clothes or gas heaters but we still have a fantastic variety of things for you to choose from.

1. Find out if you qualify

First it’s a good idea to check if you qualify for the service. Receiving Benefit isn’t the only criteria – you can be referred to us by various agencies such as the Housing Department, Porchlight, Social Services and you can even refer yourself. Although our prime objective as a furniture based charity is to help those in greatest need we often have many items that could not be classed as necessities, if this is the case we will sell to a wider group, this can help the charity to cover the costs but bear in mind that we will always give priority to those in greatest need.

2. You choose what you need

We know it’s important for you to choose your own things so feel welcome to look around the display area at our Hersden warehouse. It really is that simple: Call us, call in and collect. We could also talk about work experience, and even volunteering because we’re here to help.

3. Part with a small fee

You could collect, or we can organise delivery, either way you’ll notice that we charge a small fee on each item that you choose, just to help cover repairs, tests, handling and logistics. All you have to do then is sit back and enjoy your new things.
